Pitt-Johnstown senior outside hitter
Lualis Alvarado was named PSAC West Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week on Monday after averaging 15.8 kills in four Mountain Cat victories over the weekend.
Alvarado averaged 4.2 kills per set and hit .283 and collected seven service aces, 26 digs, and three block assists to help Pitt-Johnstown improve to 8-0 with a pair of wins at each of the St. Thomas Aquinas (NY) and Queens (NY) Tournament.
In Friday's 3-0 sweep over Assumption (MA), Alvarado, had a match-high 14 kills, hit .324, had one assist, one ace, five digs and one block assist, before tallying nine kills, one ace, and three digs in a sweep over the hosts at the St. Thomas Aquinas Tournament.
Alvarado followed-up that effort with a match high 16 kills, one ace four digs and two block assists in Saturday's opener against Queens. She then added a match-high 21 kills, four more aces and 14 digs in a five-set victory over St. Anselm (MA) to wrap up the weekend at the Queens Tournament.
