After playing nearly 88 minutes of scoreless soccer,
Sophia Lamesta scored with just 2:25 remaining in regulation to lift Pitt-Johnstown and first-year Head Coach
Aideen O'Donoghue to their first PSAC Western Division victory with a 1-0 win over California (PA), Wednesday afternoon at Richland High School. The Mountain Cats are now 3-2-2 overall and 1-2-2 in conference-play.
Pitt-Johnstown, coming off of a pair of 0-0 conference draws, finally broke the ice when Lamesta took
Rylee Fry's throughball and beat Cal goalkeeper Emily Ouimet to the bottom left corner with the game-winner.
The Vulcans had an opportunity to take the lead in the 67
th minute, but Ashely Wilson's penalty kick went wide ride to keep the match scoreless.
Mountain Cat goalkeeper
Emma Morin, the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week, recorded her third straight and fifth shutout of the season after facing nine shots and making three saves.

Ouimet took the loss in net for Cal after seeing five Pitt-Johnstown shots, making two saves, and allowing the match's lone goal.
With the loss, the Vulcans dropped to 3-3-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the PSAC West.
Pitt-Johnstown goes to Edinboro on Saturday and Clarion next Wednesday for PSAC West matches, before returning home to host nationally-ranked Gannon on Oct. 12 at Richland High School.
