Pitt-Johnstown could not match the firepower of Edinboro in a 7-0 setback in a PSAC West matchup on Saturday afternoon.
Despite being down just 2-0 at halftime, five second half goals from the Scots dropped the Mountain Cats to 3-3-2 overall (1-3-2 PSAC). Edinboro improved to 2-3-2 overall (2-3 PSAC).
Edinboro's Reese Enochs broke a scoreless tie late in the 19th minute to give the Scots the lead for good. Samantha Saylor, who scored a goal in each half, notched a tally in the 38th minute that made it 2-0. Addison Thomas found the back of the net in the 54th minute to push the lead to 3-0.
The Scots tacked on four goals in the final 11 minutes to put a cap on the afternoon.Â
Emma Bennethum recorded two of the Mountain Cats' four shots on goal against Edinboro goalkeeper Sandra Malave, who made all four saves. In all 90 minutes in goal, Parker Grimm totaled five saves.Â
Pitt-Johnstown will visit Clarion on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
