Volleyball To Celebrate Homecoming Weekend Against Slippery Rock in Friday’s PSAC West Opener

Head Coach Justin Haupt and the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team, 12-1 to start the season, will tip-off Homecoming Weekend and PSAC West play against Slippery Rock, Friday evening in the Sports Center.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
 
The Mountain Cats are coming off of a 3-0 sweep over Point Park in Tuesday's home opener.  Mallory Pinske collected nine kills in 11 attacks, and Lualis Alvarado added nine kills.
 
Head Coach Laurie Lokash, in her 41st season at Slippery Rock, and the Rock come in at 7-5.  Slippery Rock posted a 2-2 record with wins over West Liberty (WV) and Fairmont State (WV) at last weekend's MEC-PSAC Crossover.
 
Since 2005, Pitt-Johnstown holds a 10-5 advantage in the series.  Last season, the Mountain Cats swept Slippery Rock in the Sports Center on Oct. 13, before the Rock won a four-set match in Slippery Rock on Nov. 11.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will host PSAC West matches against Edinboro next Friday at 6 p.m. and Gannon on Oct. 5 at noon in the Sports Center.
