Pitt-Johnstown tallied a pair of goals within four minutes of each other in the opening half before shutting down West Liberty the rest of the way to cap a 2-0 victory in its home-opener on Sunday afternoon.
Redshirt senior Haley Neidig broke a scoreless tie at the 19:36 mark when she beat West Liberty goalkeeper Cianna Butera for her first goal of the season off an assist from Sophia Lamesta.
Lamesta then padded the lead less than four minutes later when she found the back of the net off a feed from Lydia Roman.
Emma Morin went the distance in goal and made five critical saves, all in the second half, to keep the Hilltoppers off the scoreboard.
The Mountain Cats (2-0) will open up PSAC play when they host Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Richland High School.
