Mountain Cats Build Early Lead in 34-10 Win Over Hosts at Frostburg State Duals

Gray, TrevonOzias, ChadPitt-Johnstown built a commanding 21-0 lead midway through the match on its way to defeating the host, 34-10, to close out Sunday's Frostburg State Duals.  The 11th-ranked Mountain Cats increased their win streak to seven consecutive matches and improved to 9-2 on the year.
 
Once again, eighth-ranked Trevon Gray got the Mountain Cats off to a good start with a 21-5 technical fall win at 4:08 over Nate Wilhelm at 125 lbs.
 
Tyson Cooked dealt Garhett Dickinson a 12-3 major decision loss at 133 lbs., and Mason Myers picked up a major decision win of his own when he shut out Chase Bell, 11-0, at 141 to put the Mountain cats on top, 13-0.
 
Pitt-Johnstown kept adding the bonus points.  At 149 lbs., Chad Ozias locked up a 27-10 technical fall win over Alexander Blake as time expired in the third period, before a 5-2 decision by Cooper Warshel over John D'Amico at 157 lbs. built the lead to 21-0
 
Rodgers, DakodaFrostburg State got on the scoreboard at 165 lbs. when Gavyn Beck was forced to injury to John Reho at 1:44, and 11th-ranked Owen Butler dealt Tony Salopek a 10-1 major decision loss at 174 lbs. to cut the Bobcats' deficit to 21-10.
 
However, Noah Gnibus ended Frostburg's brief run and increased the score to 25-10 and put the match out of reach with his 25-10 major decision victory over Andrew Wolfanger at 197 lbs.
 
Sixth-ranked Dakoda Rodgers followed with a 22-6 technical fall at 4:56 over Alex Hoy at 197 lbs., and Michael Mazurek closed out the Mountain Cats 34-10 win with a 12-2 major decision over William Longhurst at 285 lbs.
 
Frostburg State fell to 7-3 with the loss.
 
The Mountain Cats travel to PSAC matches at Seton Hill on Friday and at Millersville on Feb. 1, before returning home to celebrate Winterfest Weekend and Senior Night against nationally-ranked Gannon on Feb. 14.
