Pau Cano and
Ryan Kyei Boahen netted a goal each for Pitt-Johnstown, but Seton Hill was able to open up a second half lead and went on to a 5-2 PSAC Western Division victory over the Mountain Cats, Saturday afternoon in Greensburg.
Seton Hill's Rowan Aisenbrey finished a Mason Fabean assist in the 21
st minute to open the scoring, before Felix Knorn beat Mountain Cat goalkeeper
Jacob Tichnell with an unassisted tally five minutes later.
After the Griffins increased it to 3-0 three minutes into the second half when Aisenbrey set up Julien Marker's goal, Pitt-Johnstown answered with Cano's goal off of a
Jaeger James' assist to narrow the gap.
However, Seton Hill got that goal back six minutes later to make it 4-1, then added one another in the 69
th minute to build the lead to 5-1.
The Mountain Cats, who slipped to 5-3-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference-play, were able to cut it to 5-2 on Boahen's unassisted goal with 12 minutes to play, but that was as close at it would get.
Jacob Tichnell suffered the loss in goal for Pitt-Johnstown after surrendering five goals and making five saves over the first 75 minutes.
Sebastian Roman Rivera played the final 15 minutes in net and made one save.
Seton Hill's Jannik Reiss played the first 85 minutes in net and allowed two goals while making one save. Jonathan Leary played 15 minutes and didn't allow a goal or make a save.
The Griffins improved to 7-4-0 overall and 3-1-0 in the PSAC West.
The Mountain Cats will host a non-conference match against Chestnut Hill on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown, and a PSAC West match against Slippery Rock on Oct. 18 at noon.
