Pitt-Johnstown never found its footing in a weather-shortened 4-0 loss to nationally ranked Gannon on Wednesday night at McConnell Family Stadium.
The match was called at the 71:36 mark due to lightning as the Mountain Cats dropped to 2-6-4 (2-6-2 PSAC). No. 7 Gannon remained undefeated and upped its record to 13-0-1 (9-0-1 PSAC).
Four different players secured goals for the Golden Knights, with three of those coming within the first 20 minutes.
Grace Emanuel broke a scoreless tie in the 13th minute, and Isabella Prince made it 2-0 in the 17th minute. Late in the 20th minute, June Monasterio provided a third tally.Â
That 3-0 score held up heading into halftime. Pitt-Johnstown had three shots on goal, all of them being in the first half. Grace Bosnic and Katie Wiley each notched a shot despite limited playing time.
Emma Morin went the duration in goal and totaled eight saves out of the 15 shots that the Golden Knights posted.
Pitt-Johnstown will host Slippery Rock at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25 for what will be Senior Day and Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
