Volleyball to Host PSAC Matches Against Gannon on Friday and Edinboro on Saturday

Head Coach Justin Haupt and the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team return to the Sports Center to host PSAC Western Division matches against Gannon on Friday at 6 p.m. and Edinboro on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
The Mountain Cats, 13-7 overall and 4-4 in the PSAC West, got 18 kills from Ellie Zuro Cirino in a three-set home sweep over Slippery Rock on Oct. 18, the suffered a straight-set loss at Indiana (PA) last Friday.  Caroline Knight led the way with a dozen kills from the Mountain Cats against the Crimson Hawks.
 
Gannon is 17-5 overall and 8-0 in the PSAC West under 19th-year Head Coach Matt DaringAbby Wellman had 17 kills and Sydney Wake added 15 kills to lead the Golden Knights to a 3-1 conference win over Edinboro last Friday, before Cedarville (OH) dealt Gannon a 3-1 non-conference loss last Saturday.  Wake added 16 more kills for the Golden Knights.
 
On Oct. 4 in Erie, Gannon earned a 3-0 win over the Mountain Cats.  Nehir Yazicioglu finished with a match-high 15 kills for the Golden Knights, while Zuro Cirino collected eight kills for Pitt-Johnstown.
 
Head Coach Missy Soboleski (19th season) and the Edinboro fighting Scots were 9-10 overall and 4-4 in the PSAC prior to Friday's match at Indiana (PA).  Reilly Parent had 17 kills and Makayla Neelands tallied 13 kills in last Friday's four-set loss to Gannon.
 
The Mountain Cats and Fighting Scots met in Edinboro on Oct. 3, and Pitt-Johnstown battled back for a five-set victory.  Zuro Cirino posted a match-high 22 kills and Knight chipped-in 14 kills for the Mountain Cats.  Edinboro was led by Neelands' 14 kills and Parent's 13 kills.
 
Following this weekend's matches, Pitt-Johnstown travel  to conference matches at Slippery Rock on Nov. 7 and Clarion on Nov. 8.
