Pitt-Johnstown junior outside hitter
Ellie Zuro Cirino earned a spot on both the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)First-Team All-Atlantic Region Volleyball Team with this year's honors were released on Wednesday. Zuro Cirino will advance to the national ballot for Division II All-America voting. Voting was done by the region's sports information directors.
East Stroudsburg's Anna Coulter was selected as the D2CCA and AVCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year. The senior outside hitter led the Warriors to a 23-5 record (13-1 PSAC) during the regular season and the program's sixth PSAC Championship.
A Wadsworth, Ohio native and Wadsworth High School graduate, Zuro Cirino earned First-Team All-PSAC West honors on her way to leading Pitt-Johnstown to its seventh overall and third straight appearance in the NCAA division II Atlantic Region Tournament.
Zuro Cirino led the PSAC in kills per set (4.09) and total kills (421) and was second in the conference in points per set (4.47). Nationally, she ranks in the top 25 in all three categories.
She also ranks second on the team in digs (245) and digs per set (2.38), fourth in service aces (30), and fifth in total blocks (35).
