

The Pitt-Johnstown team opened the 2025 season at the Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. on Sunday, but Tiffin (OH) was able to jump out to a 4-0 lead in the third inning and went on to an 8-0 victory.

Tiffin loaded the bases and broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third on Jessica Miller's grand slam.

It stayed that way until the sixth when the Dragons added four more. Baylee Mirgon got it started with a two-run single Kylee Kleiner's base hit chased home Ryan Wallace, before Miller's RBI ground out set the final 8-0.

Hannah Gnibus accounted for the two Mountain Cats hits.

Mahlon Yonkin suffered the loss in her season debut after surrendering eight runs on seven hits in 5.1 innings.

Miller belted the grand slam and drove in five, and Mirgon drove in two and scored two for Tiffin.

Ella Esterby picked up the win after holding the Mountain Cats scoreless on two hits in six innings.

The Dragons improved to 10-2 on the year.
