The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's track and field rosters notched five top 10 finishers at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Pittsburgh.
Men's Highlights
Michael Ifidon highlighted the trip for the men with an impressive 5th place mark out of 55 competitors in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.98 seconds. He also came in 12th out of 66 athletes in the 200-meter dash after running it in 22.27 seconds.
Aiden Lechleitner claimed 7th place out of 20 competitors in the 3000-meter steeplechase after finishing in 9:42.73 minutes.
Cristian Thornton captured 12th in the 400-meter run with a time of 50.73 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team of Thornton, Noah Lee, Damian Blum and Marcello Legister claimed 11th place.
Nathan Meinke rounded out the running events with a 20th place mark in the 5000-meter run.
In the field events, Noah Ser soared to 7th in the high jump with a mark of 1.89 meters. Isaiah Dyer placed 13th in the triple jump. Bridger Blankenbicker cleared 4.23 meters in the pole vault to secure 10th, with John Yahner close behind in 12th at 4.08 meters.
Women's Highlights
Sprinter Mayah Charity stole the spotlight for the women's squad, blazing to a 3rd-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.36 seconds. She also earned 12th in the 200-meter dash, clocking 25.76 seconds.
Ava Barker and Audra Fedor were 13th and 15th, respectively, in the 3000-meter steeplechase event.
Both teams will return to action next Saturday, April 5 at the Slippery Rock Dave Labor Alumni Invitational.
