
The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's track and field rosters competed in Slippery Rock's Dave Labor Alumni Invitational on Saturday in Slippery Rock.
The men's team finished 16th out of 25 teams with 10 points, while the women garnered a 12th place mark out of 22 teams with 19 points. A total of 37 schools were represented.
Men's Highlights
Cristian Thornton notched a 5th place finish in the 400-meter run with a time of 50.38 seconds to pace the men's individual efforts.
The 4x100 meter relay team consisting of Michael Ifidon, Nick Legnine, Marcello Legister and Hunter Johnson legged out a 3rd place mark with a time of 42.72 seconds.
Ifidon was 9th in the 200-meter dash at 22.34 seconds. In the 5000-meter run, Nathan Mienke took 11th after checking in at 15:58.47 minutes.
Johnson highlighted the field events with a 12th place mark in the long jump at 6.38 meters.
Women's Highlights
The women strung together several top five finishes, led once again by Mayah Charity, who captured 3rd place in the 100-meter dash and followed it up with 5th place in the 200-meter dash.
Meanwhile in the 100-meter hurdles, Ellie Zuro glided to a 7th place finish after checking in at 15.60 seconds. The 4x100 meter relay team also checked in at 7th thanks to Charity, Kara McKenzie, Carley Weimer and Rihanna Hillegas.
Natalie Lippincott placed 4th in the high jump at 1.60 meters.
Division I Kent State won the team title with 163 points.
The men and women will return to action for the Messiah University Invitational on Saturday, April 12.
