Women’s Soccer Welcomes Back Alumni, Battles to 2-2 Draw With Clarion in PSAC-Opener

Johnstown, PA

Barrick, Maddie
Henry, Sarah
Maddie Barrick had a goal and an assist and Sarah Henry added a goal to help the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team erase a one goal halftime deficit and secure a 2-2, Alumni Day draw with Clarion in Saturday's 2025 PSAC West-opener at the UPJ Soccer Field.  The Mountain Cats are now 0-0-3 overall and 0-0-1 in conference-play.

At halftime, Head Coach Aideen O'Donoghue and the Mountain Cat women's soccer program welcomed back their alumni.

Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to a quick lead less than six minutes into the match when Barrick set up Henry's first goal of the season.

The Golden Eagles followed with a pair of goals of their own to take a 2-1 advantage at the break.  Marisa Colondrillo knotted it at one eight minutes later, before Paige Brewer finished Sydney Tatacatac's free-kick off the cross bar to put Clarion on top in the 42nd minute.

The Mountain Cats were able to get that goal back 13 minutes into the second half when Barrick scored off of MJ Labinjo's throw in.

Clarion goalkeeper Sage Sherk and Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Emma Morin kept it tied at two over the final 32 minutes.

Morin, now 0-0-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the PSAC West, faced 12 Golden Eagles' shots and made three saves, while Sherk saw 13 shots and made six saves for Clarion.

With the draw, the Golden Eagles are 0-3-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the conference.

The Mountain Cats travel to PSAC West matches at Edinboro next Saturday and Indiana (PA) on Sept. 24, before returning home to host a conference match against Gannon on Sept. 27 at 2:30 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
