The Pitt-Johnstown women's volleyball team fell in straight sets in a matchup with Shepherd during the IUP Crimson Classic on Friday night. Set scores were 15-25, 24-26, 19-25.
Ellie Zuro Cirino, who recorded a career-high 20 kills in a 3-1 win earlier in the day, racked up a team-high nine kills for the Mountain Cats, who dropped to 6-3. Caroline Knight had seven kills, while Dannika Susko added five.
Abby Berry dished out 21 assists and chipped in a team-high three service aces. Mallory Pinske contributed a team-high three blocks, while Jessica Krug pitched in defensively with a team-high 16 digs. Zuro also added 12 digs, two aces and two blocks.
Pitt-Johnstown will play Chestnut Hill College at 9 a.m. before taking on Elizabeth City State at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
