
Ellie Zuro Cirino collected match-highs of a dozen kills and six service aces tom help Pitt-Johnstown cruise by Chestnut Hill in straight sets to begin Saturday's action at the Indiana (PA) Invitational. The Mountain Cats, now 7-3, picked-up 25-16, 25-11 and 25-15 wins.
Zuro Cirnio, who hit .360 for the match, also had four digs and a block assist, while
Caroline Knight had five kills on seven attacks (.714 hit%), three aces, and four digs for Pitt-Johnstown.
Brooke Pelloni added three kills and
Natalie Lippincott had a pair of kills and two block assists.
Abby Berry's 15 set assists and
Jessica Krug's nine digs and two aces also helped lead the way for the Mountain Cats.
Chestnut Hill, which dropped to 2-5, was led by Kass Kimmel's six digs and Nicole Dimiris' five kills.
Pitt-Johnstown will finish the IUP Invitational against Elizabeth City State (NC) on Saturday, before tipping off West-play against IUP, Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Sports Center.
