Head Coach
Justin Haupt and the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team will open PSAC West-play Tuesday evening when Indiana (PA) visits the Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The Mountain Cats enter the match at 8-3 after winning three of four matches at the IUP Crimson Hawk Invitational over the weekend. Pitt-Johnstown picked up convincing wins over Charleston (WV), Chestnut Hill, and Elizabeth City State (NC), and suffered a three-set loss to Shepherd (WV).
IUP, under first-year Head Coach Avery Moore, has won its last five matches and comes in at 9-2. The Crimson Hawks swept Chestnut Hill, Charleston, and Elizabeth City State, then defeated Shepherd in four sets to close out the IUP Invitational.
Last season, IUP swept the season series over the Mountain Cats. The Crimson Hawks earned a narrow five set victory in Indiana on Oct. 15, before dealing Pitt-Johnstown a four-set loss in the Sports Center on Nov. 15.
The Mountain Cats will host a non-conference match against East Stroudsburg on Friday at 6 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to conference matches at Edinboro on Oct. 3 and Gannon on Oct. 4.
