Griffin Hansberry was named PSAC Men's Golf Co-Athlete of the Week with West Chester's Paul-Arthur Roth on Wednesday after shooting a 2-under-par to win medalist honors and lead the Cats to the team championship at this week's California (PA)/Wheeling (WV) University Hannastown Collegiate Invitational in Greensburg.
Griffin shot an even-par 70 in the opening round, a 2-under (68) in round two on Monday, before firing another even par (70) in Tuesday's final round to win by 4 strokes over Cal U's Gavin Goodrich (+2) and by 5 strokes over IUP's John Olsen (+3) and Alex Swinnerton (+3).
Griffin's efforts helped lead Pitt-Johnstown to the program's third team championship. The Mountain Cats finished at +23, nine shots better than second-place California (PA) (+32) in the 15-team field.
