Volleyball To Host Non-Conference Match Against East Stroudsburg on Friday

The Pitt-Johnstown women's volleyball team, 9-3 on the year, will host a non-conference match against East Stroudsburg, Friday at 6 p.m. in the Sports Center.
 
Head Coach Justin Haupt's Mountain Cats stormed back from a two-set deficit to defeat Indiana (PA) in five sets in Tuesday's PSAC West opener in the Sports Center.  Ellie Zuro Cirino posted a match-high 20 kills, while Caroline Knight and Dannika Susko had 14 and 12 kills, respectively for the Mountain Cats.  Pitt-Johnstown won three-of-four matches at last weekend's IUP Invitational.
 
East Stroudsburg, under fifth-year Head Coach Tricia Melfy, has won seven straight matches and comes in at 9-2.  The Warriors hosted a tri-match last weekend and swept Southern New Hampshire and Queens, then won a four-set match over Georgian Court (NJ).
 
Pitt-Johnstown, which holds a 9-4 advantage in the series, and the Warriors last met on Sept. 10, 2021 at the East Stroudsburg Tournament and the Mountain Cats came away with a 3-1 victory.
 
The Mountain Cats begins a stretch of three consecutive road PSAC matches at Edinboro next Friday and at Gannon on Oct. 4.  Pitt-Johnstown will return to the Sports Center to host a conference match against Seton Hill on Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.
