
Ellie Zuro Cirino collected a match-high 16 kills and
Caroline Knight added eight kills to help the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team open the 2025 season with a 27-25, 25-19, 25-23 sweep over Bloomsburg in Friday's first round of the Virginia State Tournament in Petersburg, Va.

Along with her 16 kills, Zuro Cirino had five digs and two service aces, while Knight added eight digs to her eight kills.

The Mountain Cats also got four kills and two block assists from
Mallory Pinske and three kills and a pair of block assists from
Natalie Lippincott.

Abby Berry's match-high 31 set assists, 13 digs, and two aces paced Pitt-Johnstown.Â
Jessica Krug finished with a match-high 22 digs, and
Avery Koontz tallied 10 digs for the Mountain Cats.

The Mountain Cats will take on Bowie State in Friday's second round of the Virginia State Tournament, before taking on the hosts to close it out on Saturday at 5 p.m. Pitt-Johnstown will then make its 2025 home debut with a non-conference match against Point Park on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Sports Center.
