Mountain Cats Battle to Stalemate at West Virginia Wesleyan

Buckhannon, WV

During the first road trip of the season, Pitt-Johnstown created a few opportunities that were not reflected on the scoreboard in a 0-0 draw against West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.

The Mountain Cats (0-0-2) began the season with back-to-back ties for the first time since joining the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in 2013.

Pitt-Johnstown tallied five shots on goal, all by different players which included Sarah Rader, Julia Mayernick, Sarah Henry, Nicole Hawk and Kristen Horgan.

Parker Grimm posted nine saves after going the duration in the net. The defense in front of her posed problems for West Virginia Wesleyan, which was handed four yellow cards, including one just before the final whistle.

The Mountain Cats open up PSAC play against Clarion on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 12 p.m. in what will be Alumni Day at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
