Mountain Cat Swimmers Compete Well at IUP Last Chance Meet

After a good start to the day in Saturday's first meet hosted by Indiana (PA), the Pitt-Johnstown swimmers concluded the day with another solid showing at the 2026 IUP Last Chance Invitational at Big Spring High School in Newville.
 
Maddie Barrick led the Mountain Cat women with a 14-place finish in the 200-Meter Breaststroke at 2:45.36 and posted a time of 100.67 in the 100-Meter Freestyle.
 
Nicole Scott had times of 1:04.11 in the 100-Meter Butterfly and 1:01.48 in the 100-Meter Freestyle, while Allison Arendas swam the 100-Meter Butterfly at 1:06.96 and the 100-Meter Freestyle at 1:00.10.
 
Mark DiPalma 11th-place finish in the 100-Meter Freestyle and 58.97 time in the 100-Meter Butterfly paced the Pitt-Johnstown men.
 
Nick Truschel also swam the 100-Meter Freestyle and had a time of 1:00.18.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will close out the 2025-26 regular season at the Indiana (PA) Senior Recognition Meet on Jan. 31, before competing in the 2026 PSAC Championships at the Graham Aquatic Center in York Feb. 18-21.
