Blacksburg, Va - Pitt-Johnstown shot a 27-over par 891 to top IUP by 20 strokes and capture the Appalachian Collegiate title after three rounds on Monday and Tuesday at Blacksburg Country Club.
David Razinskas, who competed as part of Pitt-Johnstown's B squad, fired an even-par 72 in the final round to finish at 1-over par and claim individual honors in the 47-player field. The junior shot an even 72 and a 1-over 73 in the first two rounds on his way to beating Virginia Tech's Balthazar Duclos.
The Mountain Cats paced the seven-team field with rounds of 297, 305 and a tournament-best 289 in the final round.
Giovanna Vezza powered the Mountain Cats during the final round with an even-par 72 to finish at 4-over par in a tie for third.
Eli Ropietski tied one other player for ninth after coming in at 8-over par, which included a 2-over par 74 in round three.
Mauricio Hernandez finished 11th at 10-over par, Grayden Laird took 12th at 11-over and Lucas Smith placed 13th at 12-over to round out Pitt-Johnstown's top five.
Mark Yan, playing as an independent, tied for 14th with two others at 13-over par.
Meanwhile, Pitt-Johnstown's B team took third after checking in at 52-over par 916, which included rounds of 302, 304 and 310.
Dom Cerilli carded a 16-over par to tie for 21st. Tyler Mocello tied for 29th at 20-over par, while Griffin Hansberry finished one stroke behind in 31st. Parker Hilchey tied two others for 34th at 23-over par.
Pitt-Johnstown will compete in Wheeling University's Oglebay Invitational on April 6-7 at Oglebay Resort's Palmer Course.
