After sitting in a tie for third after the first two days of the 2026 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Region Men's Golf Championships at Sunnehanna Country Club, Head Coach Cody Trabert's Pitt-Johnstown squad came away with a seventh-place finish at 40-over par.

Eli Ropietski finished in a 5-way tie for 25th-place to pace the Mountain Cats.  Ropietski shot 3-over on Thursday, even par on Friday, and five-over in Saturday's final round.

Gannon claimed the Atlantic/East Region team championship at +21 after defeating second-place Charleston (WV) on the first playoff hole.  Wheeling (WV) took third-place at +26 to join Gannon and Charleston at the region's representatives in the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championships, May 18–22, at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

In addition, Hector Arriga (Glenville State) (+1) and Adam Gill (West Liberty) (+3) were the top two golfers not members of an advancing team and will compete in the national championships as individuals.

Following a six-hole playoff, Charleston's Pau Sanchez held off Gannon's Rasmus Sappanen to claim medalist honors at 1-under par.

Along with Ropietski, Mauricio Hernandez (+6, +3, +1) carded the Mountain Cats' best score of the day at +1 and finished the tournament in a tie for 35th with Post's (Conn.) Luis Reina at 10-over-par.  Griffin Hansberry (E, +5, +6) tied for 37th with seven other players at +11, and Lucas Smith (E, +5, +7) finished in a four-way tie for 45th, one shot behind Hansberry.  David Razinskas rounded out Pitt-Johnstown's five players with a tie for 66th at +17 (+6, +4. +7).

2026 marked Pitt-Johnstown's third consecutive and fourth overall appearance in the Regional Tournament.  The Mountain Cats' best finish came in 2025 when they placed sixth.
