The Mountain Cats broke out the offense and erased and early three-run deficit to take down Shippensburg, 11-6, in a non-conference contest, Tuesday afternoon at Point Stadium.
Jared Dowey led the offense with three RBI and a clutch two-run double in Pitt-Johnstown's six run seventh inning.
With the win, the Mountain Cats advanced to 15-27 (5-15 PSAC), heading into a four-game series against Lock Haven.
Shippensburg jumped in front early with two runs in the first inning. Pitt-Johnstown quickly cut that lead in half with a run-scoring single from
Lucas Muffie.
The Raiders replicated their first inning with two more runs in the second and then the Mountain Cats did the same. Muffie brought in another run off a hit-by-pitch and then a walk from
Calvin Iseminger scored another.
Ethan Porreca managed to limit their offense in the third, but then Shippensburg scored on a double to deep right field. Then in the sixth, the Raiders added another off a solo home run, making the score 6-3.

Pitt-Johnstown started to chip away in the sixth, starting off with a sacrifice fly-out from Dowey, scoring
Brody Roberts. Then
Karson Reffner drove in a run on a double to center.
After a scoreless top of the seventh, the Mountain Cats' offense busted things open in the bottom half. Roberts drove in a run on a single to tie the game and
Alex Ebeling gave Pitt-Johnstown the lead on a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. A wild pitch scored another run and then Dowey drove in two with a double off the wall. Iseminger drove him in with a single to left.
From there,
Riley Roskopf and
Seth Coleman closed things out, earning the Mountain Cats the victory. Roskopf earned the win, throwing one and two-thirds scoreless. Coleman threw one and one-third scoreless to follow.
Crusen Stover,
Jacob McCoy, Porreca, and
Adam Radkowski all pitched as well.
Roberts finished the game with three hits and scored three times. Muffie also added two hits and two RBIs.
Pitt-Johnstown will travel to Lock Haven this Friday for a PSAC West doubleheader to open a four game series. The two teams will conclude the series in Johnstown on Saturday.
