
In chilly and windy conditions, Pitt-Johnstown's
Eli Ropietski shot an even par, 70, including an eagle on the par-5 11
th hole, to climb into a three-way tie for 11
th-place after Friday's Second Round of the 2026 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Region Men's Golf Championships at Johnstown's par 70 Sunnehanna Country Club. The Mountain Cats remained tied for third at +21 entering Saturday's final round.
Wheeling (WV) overtook Gannon for the top spot at 14-over par. The Golden Knights are second at +16, while Pitt-Johnstown and Charleston (WV) are knotted in third-place at +21, and Glenville State (WV) is fifth at +22 in the field of 20 teams and four individuals.
Gannon's Rasmus Seppanen shot 2-over on Friday to end the second round at -1 and hold on to the lead by one stroke over Wheeling's Zak Collins and West Liberty's Adam Gill (Even).
After shooting three-over in Thursday's opening round, Ropietski shot even-par in round two to sit in a tie for third with Gannon's Mattia Parrini and Charleston's Pau Sanchez at +3.

Pitt-Johnstown's
Griffin Hansberry (E, +5) and
Lucas Smith (E, +5) are in a 14-way tie for 19
th-place at +5, and
Mauricio Hernandez is tied with 10 other players for 44
th-place at +9 after firing a 3-over on Friday.
David Razinskas (+6, +4) rounds out the Mountain Cats' five golfers in a nine-way tie for 55
th -place at +10.
The top three teams and the top two individual golfers not with an advancing team will earn berths in the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championships, May 18–22, at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada
Round two of the NCAA Atlantic/East Region Championships is set for Friday, with the final round set for Saturday. Starting tee times are scheduled for 7:30 a.m. both days. Pitt-Johnstown will be in the final four groups starting at 12:40 p.m.
