After opening the 2026 season at Tiffin (OH) on Thursday, Head Coach Aideen O'Donoghue and the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team will kick off their home schedule and welcome back its Alumni with a non-conference match against West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday.  Due to recent heavy rain, Sunday's match has been moved to Richland High School at 2 p.m.
 
Pitt-Johnstown enters the match at 0-1 following a 5-1 season-opening setback at Tiffin (OH) on Thursday.  Rylee Fry's first half goal knotted it at one, but the Dragons added four unanswered goals in the second half.  Marissa Mackey and Nicole Hawk each collected a pair of shots on goal, while Parker Grimm made two saves for the Mountain Cats.
 
West Virginia Wesleyan, under third-year Head Coach Holden Talton, began its 2026 campaign with a 2-2 non-conference draw at Shippensburg on Thursday.  Tessa Grisez and Ayan Ahmed accounted for the Bobcats' goals.  Zoe Brown helped to preserve the draw by making 12 saves in goal for West Virginia Wesleyan.
 
After competing as members of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) from 2006-12, the Mountain Cats and Bobcats only meeting since came last season on Sept. 7 in Buckhannon. W.Va.  Pitt-Johnstown's Parker Grimm made nine saves, and West Virginia Wesleyan's Maite Coutinho collected five saves as the teams battled to a 0-0 draw.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to California (PA) to begin PSAC West-play on Wednesday, before returning home to host a conference match against Edinboro on Sept. 5.
