Pitt-Johnstown freshman goalkeeper Gianna Cardillo was named the PSAC West Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week on Monday after making 21 saves over her first two collegiate starts.

In her first career start, Cardillo faced 17 shots, made 12 saves, and surrendered just one goal in the Mountain Cats' 1-1 PSAC West draw with Indiana (PA), Wednesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.

The South Park, Pa. native and South Park High School graduate then added nine more saves on 19 shots faced in a narrow, 2-1, conference loss at Slippery Rock on Saturday.
