Morgan Ferris's headed home the go-ahead goal in the second half, but Seton Hill answered with just under 10 minutes to play as Pitt-Johnstown and the Griffins battled to a 1-1 PSAC Western Division draw, Wednesday afternoon at Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
The result moved the Mountain Cats to 1-4-2 overall and 0-3-2 in PSAC play, while Seton Hill improved to 2-3-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the conference.
Pitt-Johnstown struck first in the 67th minute when Ferris' header off of Kristen Horgan's free-kick broke a scoreless tie and put the Mountain Cats on top.
That lead held until the 80th minute, when Seton Hill's Leah Kessler notched the equalizer off an assist from Madison Delauter to level the score at 1-1, where it would remain through the final whistle.
Seton Hill held the overall shot edge, 10-6, but Pitt-Johnstown battled back in the second half, out-attempting the Griffins 4-3 in shots on goal for the match.
Rylee Fry led the Mountain Cats' offensive push with two shots on the afternoon, while Ava Kitner, Hailey Rang, Marissa Mackey and Ferris each contributed to Pitt-Johnstown's six total shots.
In goal, Gianna Cardillo, this week's PSAC West Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week, turned in another steady performance for the Mountain Cats, making four saves across the full 90 minutes. Seton Hill's Rhys Caplinger also played all 90 minutes, finishing with two saves in the draw.
Pitt-Johnstown will look to build on Wednesday's result when it travels to a PSAC mat Clarion on Saturday at 7:00 p.m., before heading to Lock Haven on next Wednesday for another conference match.
