Men’s Soccer to Open Home Schedule Against Georgian Court on Sunday

Head Coach Eric Kinsey and the Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer team will open their 2026 season home schedule with a non-conference home against Georgian Court (NJ) on Sunday at noon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
 
After the Mountain Cats' season-opener against Walsh (OH) on Aug. 27 was canceled. Pitt-Johnstown finally kicked off its season on Thursday with a 4-2 win at Chestnut Hill.  The Mountain Cats used first half goals from Noah Pawling, Jordan Taylor, and Jack Moyer to build a 3-0 advantage, then got an insurance goal from Bernat Pujol in the 77th minute to seal the victory.  Freshman goalkeeper George Pasko limited the Griffins to a pair of goals while making nine saves in his collegiate debut.
 
Head Coach Dino Raso (14th year) and the Georgian Court Lions enter the match at 1-0-2 on the year.  Following a 1-1 draw at No.19 Bentley (MA) on Aug. 27 and a 2-2 draw at Saint Michael's (MA) on Aug. 29, Georgian Court got a pair of gals from Gils van Eif and took advantage of three second half goals to break open a 1-0 halftime lead in a 4-1 home victory over Staten Island on Thursday.
 
In the only other meeting between the two teams, Georgian Court earned a 2-0 victory over the Mountain Cats in Lakewood, NJ on Sept. 8, 2013.
 
Th Mountain Cats will begin a stretch of three consecutive non-conference road matches at Goldey Beacom (DE) on Wednesday, before starting PSAC West-play with a home match against California (PA) on Sept. 23.
