Marissa Erminio finished with a career-high 29 kills and 15 digs to help Pitt-Johnstown escape with a 3-2 PSAC crossover win over Mercyhurst, Friday evening in the Sports Center. The Lady Cats advanced to 14-5 overall and 8-3 PSAC.
The Lady Cats opened with 25-23 and 25-15 wins, before Mercyhurst answered with 25-17 and 29-27 victories to force a fifth set. That's when Pitt-Johnstown stormed back from an 8-2 deficit to secure 15-10 win to close out the match.
Beth Kendera had 13 kills, while
Kelsey Shanabrook added nine kills and 21 digs.
Brittany Saetre and
Katie Svetahor each had 12 and 21 digs, respectively.
Allison Mondorff also chipped in 54 assists.
Lexi Stefanov led Mercyhurst with 19 kills. With this loss, Mercyhurst fell to 13-8 overall and 6-4 in the PSAC.
The Lady Cats will take on Slippery Rock University on Saturday at 10 a.m. and Edinboro University at 6 p.m. to close out the PSAC crossover matches. Both games will be played in the Sports Center.
