Volleyball Suffers 3-1 PSAC Loss at Shippensburg

A victory at Shippensburg would have put Pitt-Johnstown into a tie for the top-spot in the PSAC East standings with the Red Raiders.  However, Shippensburg came out and dealt the Lady Cat volleyball team a 3-1 loss, Friday night to build a two-game lead in the division.  Marissa Erminio had 15 kills for the Lady Cats, who slipped to 17-7 overall and 9-5 in conference-play.
 
The Red Raiders defeated Pitt-Johnstown, 25-17, 19-25, 25-17, and 25-20.
 
Along with her 15 kills, Erminio added 17 digs and three blocks, while Kelsey Shanabrook had 10 kills and 16 digs.  Beth Kendera collected seven kills and four blocks for the Lady Cats.
 
Pitt-Johnstown also got 36 set assists and 10 digs from Allison Mondorff, and a team-high 18 digs from Katie Svetahor in the loss.
 
Jill Edwards finished with a match-high 17 kills to help Shippensburg improved to 19-6 overall and 11-3 in the PSAC East.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Millersville University for a PSAC match on Saturday, before returning home to host conference matches against Kutztown University and East Stroudsburg University next Friday and Saturday in the Sports Center.
