Joanna Haupt's Lady Cat volleyball team, seeded second in the Eastern Division, will host third-seeded Lock Haven University in Tuesday's Quarterfinals of the 2013 PSAC Volleyball Championships. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
As required by the PSAC, admission to Tuesday's match is $7.00 for adults, $2.00 for non-PSAC school students, and free student with a PSAC school I.D. (PSAC Tournament Website)
Pitt-Johnstown enters the tournament with a 23-10 overall record and a 15-7 mark in PSAC-play. The Lady Cats closed out the regular season by winning six of their final eight matches. Lock haven is 21-13 overall and 12-10 in the conference.
Pitt-Johnstown swept the tow-game home-and-home series against Lock Haven. On October 8, the Lady Cats swept the Bald Eagles 25-19, 25-23, 25-22 in the Sports Center, before traveling to Lock Haven on November 5 and coming away with a 15-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-19 victory.
Tuesday's night's winner will advance to Friday's PSAC Semifinals against the winner of the West #1 Clarion University vs. West No. 4 Gannon University at a site to be determined.
The PSAC Volleyball Championship game will be aired live on PCN-TV. The location of the semifinals and finals will be determined following the quarterfinal round. The highest remaining seed of the Eastern Division will serve as host for the semifinals and championship game.
The title game will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, and will be aired live on PCN-TV.
