Two Late Goals Lead Geneva Over Mountain Cat Soccer

Senior forward Jason Swope (Indiana, Pa.) gave the Mountain Cat soccer team a 1-0 first half lead, but Geneva College tallied a pair of goals in the final 11 minutes to score a 2-1 victory. With the loss, Pitt-Johnstown, ranked #4 in this week's NSCAA Atlantic Region Poll, slipped to 2-1-0 on the season.
Swope got the Mountain Cats on the scoreboard with a chip passed Geneva goalkeeper David Callahan off of Joe Cronan's (Indiana, Pa.) direct kick in the 32nd minute. Pitt-Johnstown held that lead until Jake McCracken beat Pitt-Johnstown goal keeper Craig Neff (Elizabethtown, Pa.) on a penalty kick in the 79th minute. The Golden Tornadoes then notched the game-winning goal with just 1:03 to play when McCracken took a cross from Joshua Mann and found the back of the net.
Neff faced nine shots and made three saves, but took the loss and fell to 2-1-0. Callahan earned the victory and improved to 2-0-0 after facing eight shots and making a pair of saves.
With the victory, Geneva improved to 3-1-0.
Pitt-Johnstown will begin a stretch of four straight road matches Tuesday night at Bloomsburg University. The Mountain Cats will return home to host WVIAC foe University of Charleston (WV) on Tuesday, September 23 at 4:00 p.m.
