Men's Soccer

Men's Soccer Falls, 1-0, at Geneva

09/06/2007

Red-shirt freshman goalkeeper Michael LoPresti (Karns City, Pa.) made his Mountain Cat soccer debut Thursday night at Geneva College and gave up just one goal, but it proved to be the game-winner as the Golden Tornados dealt Pitt Johnstown a 1-0 loss. The Mountain Cats are now 2-1-0 on the year.
LoPresti faced 11 shots and made five saves, but Geneva's Jake McCracken scored the match's lone goal off a penalty kick in the 75th minute to give the Golden Tornados to win.
Four Mountain Cats registered two shots apiece, including senior defender Alex Gatti (Indiana, Pa.), who collected two shots on-goal, but no one was able to beat Geneva goalkeeper Sam McCracken. McCracken made five saves to improve to earn the victory.
Geneva is now 3-1-0 on the season.
The Mountain Cats return home to open the 2007 WVIAC conference schedule against Shepherd (WV) University on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
