Shaulis Garners Third WVIAC Pitcher of Week Honor

For the third time this season, Pitt-Johnstown senior left-handed pitcher Drew Shaulis (Somerset, Pa.) was named WVIAC Pitcher of the Week. This time, Shaulis, who tossed a complete-game, 9-0 shutout over Shepherd (WV) University, shares the honor with West Virginia State University's Chase Pickering. Shaulis pitched all seven innings and allowed just four hits in the Mountain Cats' victory over Shepherd on Saturday. He also fanned two and walked just one.
Pickering helped West Virginia State sweep rival University of Charleston (WV) with his fine performance on the mound. Pickering also threw a complete game and surrendered just one hit in a 4-0 win. He did not allow a walk and struck out six.
Wenger earned WVIAC Player of the Week honors after going nine-for-20 with seven RBI. He helped Concord post a 4-1 record. Wenger belted a double, triple and home run on the week while scoring five runs.
Shaulis was also named the WVIAC Pitcher of the Week on March 1 and march 7. Pitt-Johnstown's Alex Naggy (Greensburg, Pa.) was the conference's Co-Pitcher of the Week on March 25.
