DelSignore Tabbed Second Team All-Region By Coaches; Sports Information Directors Named Moore Second Team All-Region

Top NCAA Division II North Atlantic Region baseball honors have been handed out by coaches and sports information directors. Pitt Johnstown senior designated hitter/infielder Dan DelSignore (Johnstown, Pa.) was named to the second team in the Rawlings Coaches All-Region teams, while freshman right hander Jon Moore (Leechburg, Pa.) garnered Daktronics Second Team honors in the sports information directors all-region teams.
DelSignore, a Second Team ESPN the Magazine Second Team Academic All-District selection, entered Thursday's First Round of the 2008 North Atlantic Region Baseball Tournament as Pitt Johnstown's third leading hitter at .354. DelSignore leads the team in hits (67), runs scored (50) and hit-by-pitch (14). DelSignore also has 18 doubles, a pair of triples, five homeruns and 32 RBIs.
Moore posted a team-best 6-1 reord in eight starts as a true freshman. Moore struck out 35 in 46.2 innings and had a 3.66 E.R.A.
Six WVIAC players are first team selections on both the Daktronics (SID's) and Rawlings (coaches) all-region squad. Shepherd 1B Dirk Webb, West Virginia Wesleyan 2B Derek Bowen, Concord 3B Greyson Schram, West Virginia State OF Bo Darby, Shepherd P Matt McCarty, and West Virginia Wesleyan RP Craig Hriblan earned top squad status on each team.
Additionally, four WVIAC standouts earned regional Rawlings Gold Glove awards as voted upon by coaches in the North Atlantic Region. Bowen, Charleston C Kyle Root, Concord 1B Matt Kuntz, and Seton Hill OF Matt Musiak have been recognized for their slick fielding.
Webb, the WVIAC Player and Hitter of the Year, earned regional Player of the Year honors on the Daktronics team. The Falling Waters, WV senior batted .426 with 72 hits in 169 at-bats. He drove in 52 runs and scored 47. He also led Shepherd with 16 doubles and 14 home runs. He is the program's all-time leader in hits (225), walks (101), and putouts (943).
