Shaulis, a senior left-hander, improved to 2-0 after working all nine innings in the 5-1 win over Ohio Valley. Shaulis scattered just five hits, struck out 10, and walked one. Ohio Valley's lone run was unearned.
Shepherd (WV) University's Nathan Minnich was tabbed the WVIAC Player of the Week. Minnich hit .467 for the week (7-15). He belted three home runs, including two grand slams. Minnich knocked in 11 runs and scored seven runs. Four of his seven hits went for extra bases.
