Watkins Named WVIAC Pitcher of Week For Third Time

Pitt-Johnstown senior right-hander Ben Watkins (Tire Hill, Pa.) garnered his third WVIAC Pitcher of the Week honor the the 2009 season on Monday after striking out 13 West Liberty State (WV) College hitters in Saturday's 7-0 Senior Day win.
Watkins raised his record to 5-1 after scattering three hits in six shutout innings against the Hilltoppers. Watkins didn't allow a walk and fanned 13, including striking out the side in the second, fourth and fifth innings.
Watkins was also named the WVIAC Co-Pitcher of the Week on March 2 and the Pitcher of the Week on March 23.
