Volleyball Gets Swept at Home By Shepherd

Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had eight kills, but Shepherd (WV) University came into the Sports Center Wednesday night and swept the Lady Cat volleyball team, 25-22, 25-20, 25-14, in WVIAC action. Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the WVIAC.
Along with her eight kills, Hrescak had nine digs, while Kayla Brandle (Johnstown, Pa.) had four hills and Ashley Dirado (Greensburg, Pa.) and Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) each had three kills. Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) had 10 set assists, and Taylor King (York, Pa.) chipped in eight assists and nine digs.
Meg Kenny's 12 kills and Lauren Jeschelnik's 28 assists led the way for Shepherd, which improved to 2-7 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
The Lady Cats will host a conference match against Glenville State (WV) College on Friday and a non-conference match against Mount Aloysius College on Monday September 20. Both matches will tip-off at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
