Volleyball Sweeps Glenville State in Sports Center

Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) collected 11 kills to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-11, 27-25 sweep over WVIAC rival Glenville State (WV) College, Friday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown improved to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the WVIAC.
Hrescak added 10 digs to go along with her 11 kills, while Lindsay Roush (Johnstown, Pa.) had eight kills and Beth Kendera (Johnstown, Pa.) and Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) each had seven kills. Kendera also had four block solos and one block assist.
Taylor King (York, Pa.) (22 aces) and Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) (15 aces) combined for 37 set assists. Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) matched Hrescak with 10 digs.
Chelsea Cooke-Tripp paced Glenville State with 13 kills. With the loss, the Lady Pioneers fell to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats will host a non-conference match against Mount Aloysius College on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to Seton Hill University for a WVIAC match on Wednesday.
