Volleyball Falls at Home to Wheeling Jesuit

Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) and Lindsay Roush (Johnstown, Pa.) combined for 15 kills, but WVIAC-leading Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University came into the Sports Center on Saturday and dealt the Lady Cat volleyball team a 25-10, 25-22, 25-22 loss. Pitt-Johnstown has lost four straight matches and slipped to 5-8 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
Heidenthal had eight kills, a block solo and a block assist, while Roush collected seven kills to lead the Lady Cats. Beth Kendera (Johnstown, Pa.) chipped in three kills, two block solos and three block assists.
Taylor King (York, Pa.) had a team-high 14 set assists, and Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) added 10 assists.
Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) 15 digs paced Pitt-Johnstown. Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had four kills, a block assist and 10 digs in the loss.
Jenna Pew's 11 kills and two block solos helped Wheeling Jesuit improved to 16-3 overall and 6-0 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats wrap-up a stretch of four straight home matches with WVIAC contests against West Liberty (WV) University on Wednesday and West Virginia Wesleyan College for Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Tuesday, October 12. Both matches will start at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center.
