Volleyball Scores 3-1 Home Win Over West Liberty

Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) had 12 kills and 18 digs to lead a group of three Lady Cats who had double-digit kills in a 25-16, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18 victory over WVIAC rival West Liberty (WV) University, Wednesday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown improved to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in conference-play.
Ashley Dirado (Greensburg, Pa.) and Lindsay Roush (Johnstown, Pa.) each added 10 kills, and Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) chipped in nine kills.
Hrescak also had three block solos and two block assists, while Dirado had two block solos and five block assists, and Beth Kendera (Johnstown, Pa.) collected two blocks and four block assists.
Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) and Taylor King (York, Pa.) had 25 and 24 set assists, respectively in the victory.
Rachel Ziegler's 13 kills paced West Liberty, which fell to 8-11 overall and 2-5 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats wrap-up a stretch of four straight home matches with a WVIAC contest against West Virginia Wesleyan College for Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before playing five consecutive road matching starting at Ohio Valley (WV) University on Friday, October 15.
