Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) finished with 25 kills and and Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) added 22 kills to the the Lady Cat volleyball team to a 2-1 record at Friday and Saturday's WVIAC/CIAA Crossover Tournament at Shepherd (WV) University. Pitt-Johstown defeated Shepherd and Virginia Union University, and suffered a 3-1 loss to Elizabeth City State (NC) University. The Lady Cats are now 6-12.
Pitt-Johnstown ended the tournament with a 25-8, 25-6, 25-7 sweep over Virginia Union behind eight kills from Irwin, seven from Hogan and four from Houser. King led the Lady Cats with 15 assists and seven digs, while Petrilla had nine assists and six service aces. Gearhart tallied four aces and Pennewill added three aces in the sweep.
The Lady Cats will host a WVIAC match against Seton Hill University on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Thursday for another confernce match.
