Volleyball Falls 3-2 at Home to Seton Hill

Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) and Ashley Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa.) combined for 33 kills, but it wasn't enough, as Seton Hill University outlasted the Lady Cats 3-2 Tuesday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown fell to 6-13 overall and 1-7 in the WVIAC.
Pitt-Johnstown fell 22-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 11-15.
Irwin finished with 18 kills, a block solo and three block assists, and Hogan tallied 15 kills, one block solo and a pair of block assists. Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) had nine kills, while Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) added five kills, three service aces and 18 digs.
The Lady Cats also got 23 and 22 assists, respectively from Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) and Taylor King (York, Pa.). Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) led Pitt-Johnstown with 21 digs. Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) also had 17 digs in the loss.
With the victory, Seton Hill improved to 9-6 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
The Lady Cats travel to a WVIAC match at Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Thursday and to a non-conference match at Mount Aloysius College on Tuesday, before returning home to play four straight matches in the Sports Center beginning with Ohio Valley (WV) University on Friday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m.
