Volleyball Rallies for WVIAC Win Over Glenville State

The Pitt-Johnstown women's volleyball team got 12 kills from Talor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) and rallied with three straight wins after dropping the first game to defeat Glenville State (WV) College, Friday night in the Sports Center. With the victory, the Lady Cats have won two straight matches and improved to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the WVIAC.
After suffering a 20-25 loss in the opener, Pitt-Johnstown earned the victory with 25-22, 26-24 and 25-23 wins.
Along with her team-high 12 kills, Hrescak added 23 digs, while Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) chipped in nine kills. Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) had 19 assists and Taylor King (York, Pa.) collected 15 assists and three services aces. Head coach Linda Renzi also got four block assists from Sierra Steele (Windber, Pa.) and Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) in the victory.
With the loss, Glenville State dropped to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in league play.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a WVIAC match against Shepherd (WV) University on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Thursday for another conference match.
