Volleyball Sweeps Shepherd In Sports Center

Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team made it three straight conference wins and improved to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the WVIAC with a 3-0 sweep over Shepherd (WV) University, Tuesday night in the Sports Center. Junior middle hitter Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) had five kills and four block assists to lead Pitt-Johnstown.
The Lady Cats swept Shepherd 25-20, 25-22, 25-19.
Along with Irwin, freshman Jessica Heidenthal (Clymer, Pa.) had four kills, and sophomore Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) added three kills and three service aces. Head Coach Linda Renzi also got 11 assists from Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) and eight assists from Taylor King (York, Pa.).
With the loss, the Rams fell to 2-10 overall and 0-2 in WVIAC play.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Thursday, before returning home to host Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
