Volleyball Sweeps Salem International in Sports Center

Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) had 12 kills to lead the Lady Cat volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep over visiting Salem International (WV) University, Tuesday night in the Sports Center. Pitt-Johnstown made it two straight wins and improved to 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats swept the Tigers 25-7, 25-16 and 25-11.
Nicole Houser (Penn Run, Pa.) had seven kills, and Taylor Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) added five kills. Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) collected 21 assists and three service aces, while Taylor King (York, Pa.) had six assists, and Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) chipped in three service aces in the victory.
With the loss, Salem International fell to 0-10 overall and 0-7 in the WVIAC.
Pitt-Johnstown will host Ohio Valley (WV) University on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to Mount Aloysius College on Tuesday.
