Volleyball Wins Third Straight With Home Sweep Over Bethany

Sophomore middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) collected 13 kills to lead Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team to its third straight with with a three-games-to-none sweep over Bethany (WV) College, Monday night in the Sports Center. Pitt Johnstown improved to 14-11 on the year.
After taking the first two games, 30-23 and 30-20, the Lady Cats completed the sweep with a 30-26 victory in game three.
Along with her 13 kills, Ritenour also had a pair of block solos and two block assists, while freshman middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) added nine kills, three block solos and two block assists. Senior Sarah Davison (Grove City, Pa.) and sophomore Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) combined for 35 set assists, and senior defensive specialist Ashley Brant (Johnstown, Pa.) had 20 digs in the win.
With the loss, Bethany dropped to 7-18 on the season.
The Lady Cats will celebrate Senior Night against Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center, before finishing the season at Mount Aloysius College on Saturday and Chatham College on Monday, October 30.
