Volleyball Suffers 3-1 Loss at Glenville State

Head Coach Linda Renzi's Lady Cat volleyball team opened a pair of weekend WVIAC conference matches with three-games-to-one loss at Glenville State (WV) College, Friday night. With the loss, Pitt Johnstown fell to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the WVIAC.
Pitt Johnstown dropped the first two games, 22-30 and 25-30, before earning a 30-28 victory in game three. However, the Pioneers dealt the Lady Cats a 30-22 loss in game four to win the match.
Junior middle hitter Kristin Irwin (Bellefonte, Pa.) led Pitt Johnstown with 11 kills, while Abby Gearhart (Elton, Pa.) and Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) had eight and seven kills, respectively. Ritenour also had five block assists. Junior setter Merissa Larrew (Irwin, Pa.) had 19 set assists, and freshman Taylor King (York, Pa.) added nine assists. Lady Cat sophomore middle hitter Megan Lasut (Central City, Pa.) chipped in five kills and five block assists in the loss.
Glenville State improved to 5-12 overall and 2-2 in the WVIAC.
Pitt Johnstown travels to Ohio Valley (WV) University on Saturday, before returning home to host West Liberty State (WV) College on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
